A few Internet friends came together to reflect on these questions. The result was The Modern Billboard Collective – the first ever experiment in tokenized advertising, starting with a group of startups selling ad space on their websites represented as NFTs that are freely tradable. In layman’s terms, this means you can buy and own a square lot on a billboard that will be permanently hosted on our site. As a lot owner, you can upload an image and link out to a URL of your choice.
The cool part is that because we’re still brand new, you can buy a lot today, hold it for months or years, and sell it in the future. That "digital real estate" should (in theory) get more valuable over time as we grow.
